FAQ - Floor Area Estimator

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the purpose of this website?

Our website is designed to help you estimate the floor area of a property using simple floor plan images typically used for real estate sale advertisements.

Is this tool free to use?

Yes, our tool is completely free to use for all users. You can upload your floor plans, adjust the measurements, and receive area estimations without any costs or hidden fees.

How to Upload a Floor Plan

Desktop Instructions:

  1. Save the floor plan image to your computer.
  2. Click the "Please select a floor plan" button to browse and select the saved file.
  3. Click the "Upload" button to submit your image and receive estimated results.

Mobile Instructions:

  1. Capture a screenshot of the floor plan.
  2. Tap the "Please select a floor plan" button and choose the screenshot from your device.
  3. Tap the "Upload" button to submit your image and receive the estimated results.

Once uploaded, the AI system will identify a reference room and overlay a blue rectangle around its borders. You can utilize the Zoom in/out, Move, and Fine-Tune adjustments to precisely align the rectangle and enhance the accuracy of the estimated floor area.

What types of floor plans can I upload?

You can upload simple floor plans that are commonly found in real estate listings. These plans provide a straightforward view of the property layout and should include dimensions inside each room, formatted as width x height (e.g., 3.7 x 5.2 or 4m x 6m).

What file formats are supported for uploads?

We support common image file formats such as JPEG, PNG, and GIF. Make sure your floor plan is clear and legible for the best results.

Can I use professional architectural floor plans?

Currently, our tool does not support complex professional architectural floor plans. Our focus is on simpler plans used in real estate advertisements.

What should I do if my floor area estimate seems inaccurate?

First, adjust the blue rectangle to accurately overlay the reference room. Note that the AI tool currently does not support floor plans located within site plans. If your floor plan is part of a site plan, the estimated area will pertain to the entire site plan. In cases where a site plan is included in the floor plan image, the AI system may not differentiate between them and might mistakenly include the site plan in its estimate.

Additionally, sometimes the drawings might not match the actual dimensions stated on the plan. For example, the dimensions of a room might be listed as 4m x 5m on the plan, but the actual width and height in the drawing do not match these measurements.

Ensure your floor plan is a clear and simple image without unnecessary details. If issues persist, consider uploading a higher quality image or a differently captured version of your floor plan.

Is my personal data safe on this website?

Yes, we prioritize your privacy and security. Uploaded images are processed securely, and we do not store any personal data beyond the estimation process.

Can I use this tool for commercial real estate properties?

Our tool is primarily intended for residential properties. For commercial properties, especially larger or more complex layouts, results might not be as accurate.
